Water Agency Gourma : communicators trained in IWRM
On Thursday, May 21, 2015 , the AEG has initiated a sensitization workshop on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM ) plans of men and women came from all corners of media space its jurisdiction that covers part 5 regions. This workshop aimed to inform and raise awareness on the implementation of integrated water resource management in Burkina Faso in general and in the Agency Management area of Aquatic especially Gourma.
The workshop’s opening ceremony was chaired by the President of the Special Delegation of the common Koupéla Mama TRAORE / ZANFARA. She said one of the challenges facing Burkina Faso and that speaks to all Burkinabe is probably the management of natural resources, especially water resources. To do this, the implementation of this principle of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) river basin of Burkina Faso’s water resources has led to the creation of five (05) spaces which present the Water Agency Gourma (AEG).
The workshop Koupéla enabled communicators to give the context of the implementation of IWRM in Burkina Faso, to present the role and tasks of the Water Agency Gourma, and raise awareness on different media the importance of their involvement in the implementation of integrated water resources management in the Agency Management area Water Gourma.
The various communication modules were
- The National Water Policy and its implementation level;
- The Orientation Law on Water Management;
- The implementation status of IWRM in Burkina Faso;
- The role and tasks of the Agency for Water Gourma; and
