Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM): the Gourma Water Agency (AEG) informs and sensitizes stakeholders in the province of Tapoa

On September 8, 2017, the Gourma Water Agency (AEG) organized an information and awareness-raising workshop for the stakeholders involved in the process of drawing up the Master Plan for Water Management and Management ) of the province of Tapoa.

In his introductory statement, the representative of the Director General of the AEG thanked all the participants for their effective presence. As for the High Commissioner, he invited the participants to the discussions more intensely.

During the workshop, the actors were informed about the tasks and responsibilities of the Gourma Water Agency ; to inform stakeholders on the Water Management Guidance Act and its implementing decree in relation to the Water Management and Management Master Plan (SDAGE) ; to sensitize the actors involved on the SDAGE development, validation and implementation process ; to seek the support of stakeholders in the SDAGE validation and implementation process.

As a reminder, the SDAGE is a document for the planning and sustainable management of a watershed or a space for water resources management. It defines the fundamental orientations for an optimal and concerted management of water resources for the medium and long term while respecting ecological, economic and general interest balances.
